Sophia Nahli Allison is an Academy Award-nominated experimental documentary filmmaker and photographer based in Los Angeles. Her film A Love Song For Latasha revisits the life of Latasha Harlins through the memories of Harlins’ cousin and best friend. Harlins was a 15-year-old black girl murdered by a Korean store clerk in South Central LA in 1991, two weeks after the beating of Rodney King by the LAPD.
