Ifeanyi Awachie is a Nigerian-born, Atlanta-raised writer, filmmaker, and scholar. She holds a PhD in Cinema Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and she is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Cinema, Television, and Emerging Media Studies (CTEMS) Department at Morehouse College. She is the writer and director of This Thing Is Not for You (2022), produced by WATZS Productions. In her films, Ifeanyi draws on her lived experience to write and direct dignified narratives that ultimately focus on the joy, solidarity, and uplift of the Igbo people and the African diaspora.
