Araeia (a-ray-uh) Robinson is a Philly bred, LA based director, writer and graduate of Temple University's School of Film & Media Arts. Heavily influenced by hippie parents and the rich music scene of her hometown, her soulful narrative style centers the power, beauty and intersectional experiences of women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and all underrepresented communities. She is most passionate about showcasing the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Araeia earned her stripes production managing and her wheelhouse ranges from creative brand development to directing commercials, films and music videos. She has worked with global brand leaders at Vogue, Gillette, Google, Coke, Jordan Brand, Shea Moisture, Paramount+ and more. Her social-political thriller Val-En-Tina starring Emmy-nominated Jon Lindstrom (True Detective) was an official selection for Les Femmes Underground Int’l Film Festival and Official Latino Short Film Festival.
Araeia is also an alum of the AICP and DGA sponsored CDDP Fellowship Program. Her recent work celebrates the creative power of Coco Gauff, Lupita Nyong’o and Erykah Badu. Araeia’s mission is to create transformative stories that allow all women and BIPOC characters to be their fullest, most three dimensional selves.
