Kathleen Collins

Kathleen Collins (1942-1988) was a prolific author, professor, scholar, and filmmaker. Her sensitive and insightful film Losing Ground, about a married couple’s strained marriage, was one of the first narrative feature films directed by a Black woman to be released in the U.S.
